The Creative Brief: 8.6.2012

ON August 6, 2012

If you want to be creative, you need to train your brain.  Like an Olympic athlete, if you want to excel you have to put in the work.  At The Ohlmann Group, we’re here to help you exercise those creative muscles and get your creativity flowing.

There are some crazy sports in the Olympics – horse dancing, synchronized diving, and rhythmic gymnastics just to name a few.  To each their own I suppose.  Regardless of your view on these sports, those who participate in them seem to enjoy them and are proud and happy to earn medals for excellence.  Even more amazing they all seem to attract an audience.  So with that in mind your task is to take the random words listed below and create the next great Olympic sport.

The following words are the basis for your sport:

  • Drum
  • Explosion
  • Paint

Using these 3 words, create an entirely new Olympic sport.  Remember it should have basic rules, criteria for winning, and be entertaining both to those who play and watch.

Who knows?  Maybe we’ll be watching your new event in 2016 in Rio.  Good luck and let the games begin!
