Are You With Coco?

Lamar Outdoor is taking advantage of the recent Tonight Show debacle to show its support for Conan O’Brien and to show off the capabilities of their digital billboards.  The campaign, called Lamar is With Coco, features a rotating display of Conan’s latest Twitter updates along with a great illustration of Conan and a url where people can learn more about the campaign.

Because the board is digital, the Conan impressions rotate along with other standard advertisements, and illustrate some of the flexibility that digital billboards offer.  I saw one of these billboards today on Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton, stopped to check it out, and laughed at each of the 5 short Conan messages punctuated by a “Lamar is with Coco,” image at the end of the series.

This campaign does a nice job of showcasing the flexibility that digital billboards can offer, with multiple messages and dynamic content integrated together to attract attention and shape perception.
This is a great example of how digital media is creating exciting new opportunities for marketers.  Have you seen these billboards, or better yet, are you now with Conan as a result of them?
