We give back to our community all year long, but the holiday season is a special time where we like to pool our individual community efforts into one big project.
Each child admitted to Dayton Children’s often receives a small stuffed toy, so the hospital is always looking for donations of new stuffed animals to pass out to children. Many children will be spending the holiday season at the hospital this year, too, and the dedicated staff at Dayton Children’s helps ease the discomfort of a disrupted season with simple gifts for children during the holidays they celebrate.
St. Vincent de Paul’s, like many shelters that offer relief to the homeless, has seen a dramatic uptick of those in need of its services this year due to the rough economy. The cold weather and dire financial situation means that even those who remain in their homes may not be able to heat them sufficiently. To that end, we are collecting hats, socks, gloves, and other warm weather items to donate to this organization.
If you would like to help us in these efforts, please contact Pam Fister at 937.278.0681 or contact either of these organizations independently.
