Hello, weekend! We’re back with our weekly roundup of interesting marketing news as well as the latest happenings in Dayton. If you’re looking for a great way to spend your weekend in the Gem City, check out our ideas:
Check out First Friday Downtown Dayton
First Friday is a favorite Dayton tradition, beginning every month with a showcase of our city’s finest art, entertainment, and dining. This month’s theme is Fun Fall Edition and will feature a variety of artwork on display, music, entertainment, and discounts at local restaurants. Learn more here.
Shop local at the Dayton Craft and Artisan Expo
The holidays are coming and there’s no better place to find a unique gift than the Dayton Craft and Artisan Expo at the Dayton Masonic Center this Saturday and Sunday. Many vendors will have onsite demonstrations of their handmade crafts and artisan made products.
Enjoy an Art Nouveau lecture at the DAI
We’ve already shared our excitement about the featured Alphonse Mucha exhibition at the Dayton Art Institute. Now you can learn more about the life of Mucha and how his work shaped the Art Nouveau movement – including advertising. The lecture is presented by Wright State University’s Dr. Karla Huebner on Saturday, November 4th. Details here.
New in Marketing:
New Instagram Stories update to boost engagement
This week, Instagram introduced a new update to its Stories feature, featuring previews of friends and suggested Stories within a user’s feed. The new featured is designed to give users a second chance to engage with Stories with a sneak peek of the image inside, right in their feed.
Facebook launches creative split testing for ads
This month, Facebook launched a new way to measure ad success with creative split testing. Now advertisers using the platform can test different headlines, visuals, formats, and CTA’s to determine which version drives better results. The new feature should be a great way to identify the best practices for specific business needs and drive successful, long-term ad campaigns.
Have a great weekend!
