Tops in Ad Club Competition

 

Penny/Ohlmann/Neiman, Inc. has received two Hermes Awards and 17 other awards in leading this year’s competition of the Dayton Advertising Club.

Hermes busts, the local advertising “Oscars” were presented to Penny/ Ohlmann/ Neiman for best of show in the television and radio categories.

The five other Hermes winners and their categories are Cassano Pizza & Seafood, best of newspaper; Oppenheim, Herminghausen, Clarke, best of direct mail; AVS, Inc., best of audio visual; Needham, Harper & Steers, best of magazine; and Art Direction, Inc., best of sales promotion.

The 19th annual competition attracted 731 entries in 80 categories. Next after Penny/ Ohlmann/ Neiman in number of awards were Armco Corp. and Willis/Case/Harwood. Armco received seven Awards of Excellence and six Awards of Merit, while Willis/Case/Harwood got five Awards of Excellence and eight Awards of Merit.

Other major winners: Needham, Harper & Steers- one Hermes, four Awards of Excellence and six Awards of Merit. Oppenheim, Herminghausen & Clarke – one Hermes, three Awards of Excellence and five Awards of Merit. Cassano – one Hermes, two Awards Excellence and four Awards of Merit. Kircher, Helton & Collett – Two Awards of Excellence and four Awards of Merit. Art direction – one Hermes and four Awards of Excellence. AVS, Inc. – One Hermes, one Award of Excellence and three Awards of Merit. David K. Burnap – two Awards of Excellence and three Awards of Merit. J. Raymond Davis – two Awards of Excellence an three Awards of Merit. Huffy Corp. – one Award of Excellence and three Awards of Merit. Monarch Marketing Systems –one Award of Excellence and three Awards of Merit. World wide – three Awards of Excellence and one Award of Merit.

Penny Ohlmann Neimann

The Ohlmann Group has a rich history that began in Dayton, Ohio in 1949, where the agency was founded as Penny and Penny by Bob Penny and his wife Jean. In 1964, Walter Ohlmann joined the firm. Ralph Neiman came on in 1969 and the firm became Penny/Ohlmann/Neiman. In 2011, P/O/N was renamed The Ohlmann Group to better reflect the agency's ongoing evolution and collaborative nature.
