Dayton has always been a community that has united around charitable causes, shared experiences, and lending a hand to those in need. We are known as a city of neighbors. In Dayton, unity is a way of life. From helping people through natural disasters and major economic challenges to simply making sure that people are safe, warm, and fed, Dayton has proven time and time again that the people care about each other. Still, in our busy world, it is tough to keep track all the good being done, let alone find ways to give back to the community through time, talent, or treasure.
With 73 partner organizations and an endless stream of challenges, United Way of the Greater Dayton Area is actively working each and every day to strengthen our community. The organization, led by Allen Elijah, plays an invaluable role in keeping our community strong. As a longstanding member of the community, we at The Ohlmann Group deeply respect and appreciate the work that United Way does for Dayton.
In an effort to bring more awareness to the impact of United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, The Ohlmann Group will be spotlighting several of their partner organizations through brief video interviews. In these short videos, you will learn more about the partner agency, who they help, how they help, and what you can do to get involved with them. Additionally, you will learn how United Way helps each of these organizations fulfill its mission.
In creating and publishing these short videos we hope to enlighten you about the vast impact of United Way and the good work being done in our community. We hope that these simple videos will educate you and perhaps inspire you to get involved and give back. We are a community with significant challenges. Fortunately, we are also a community with unmatchable determination, boundless compassion, and a proud tradition of volunteerism.
Our first Partner Profile features Catholic Social Services– an organization that provides early childhood education and social services to babies, children, families, and seniors. Their mission is to strengthen individuals and families through acts of faith, service and charity. In this video Executive Director, Laura Roesch, shares how Catholic Social Services, with the support of United Way of The Greater Dayton Area, is making a difference in Dayton.
United in Dayton! Today, there are so many ways you can give back. Word of mouth and social media are two very powerful communication tools and we encourage you to share these videos and spread the good word about what is going on in the community.
