JobsOhio is a private, nonprofit corporation, designed to lead Ohio’s job-creation efforts. It does so by centering its attention around attracting business, emphasizing on the strategic industry’s sectors. Using a private-sector approach, JobsOhio speaks the language of business, enabling Ohio to be more nimble, flexible and competitive in its economic development efforts. The Dayton Development Coalition saw this as an opportunity to attract new employers to the Dayton Region. Using the already-developed JobsOhio website and brand standards, they asked The Ohlmann Group to create a website specifically promoting our area. This new standalone JobsOhioWest site needed to feature specifically local data and share specifically local opportunities.
The Ohlmann Group completely rebuilt the website from the ground up. While retaining the brand standards and some of the format from the parent JobsOhio site, we also gave it exclusive traits, like simple home page navigation for specific industries, an interactive map detailing each county’s largest employers, and company spotlight features that showcase area success stories. In addition, we improved the website’s footer to allow users to smoothly transition between industries when navigating through the site. We also created a series of infographics that visually display our area’s most impressive facts and figures.
