BBB Dayton News Release
DAYTON, Ohio, April 18, 2023 – Today, Better Business Bureau serving Dayton and the Miami Valley is pleased to announce Ohlmann Group will be honored with the BBB’s Legacy Award. Ohlmann Group will receive the prestigious honor at BBB’s Torch Awards For Ethics Awards Dinner on Tuesday, May 9 at David H. Ponitz Sinclair Center, 444 W. Third St., Bldg. 12, Dayton.
This award is dedicated to the legacy of great Miami Valley business pioneers, such as John Patterson, Wilbur and Orville Wright, Charles Kettering, Colonel Edward Deeds and most recently, Clay Mathile. It was through their efforts the Miami Valley has stood the test of time and recreated itself again and again.
Ohlmann Group is a dynamic, growing, full-service marketing and advertising agency proudly based in Dayton for nearly 75 years. As a family-owned business, Ohlmann Group upholds the values of honesty, integrity and excellence, with the philosophy to do great work and to be great to work with.
Over the years, Ohlmann Group has received thousands of awards for the work it produced for clients. Team members have also received recognition ranging from the Dayton Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty to Dayton Magazine Top 50 Most Influential to Dayton Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year, among many others. Throughout the agency’s history, five Ohlmann group leaders have been honored with the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Dayton’s prestigious Silver Medal Award for outstanding contributions to advertising and community leadership.
Giving back is part of the cultural fabric of the organization. Each year, Ohlmann Group donates hundreds of hours of creative time, providing small businesses with marketing and design expertise to help them grow. Employees are encouraged to get involved in the causes they care about, including serving on nonprofit boards, speaking to and mentoring students at local high schools and colleges, and volunteering their time and talents. In addition, Ohlmann Group schedules a half-day volunteer outing monthly for its team to take time off work and give back together. This year, the company has provided a transformative helping hand to a nonprofit organization doing good in our community as it gifts the land, building and building contents of its former location at 1605 N. Main Street to the Omega Community Development Corporation (CDC).
The company is committed to lifelong learning and is eager to mentor and guide the next generation of advertising professionals. Its president founded SummitUp, an annual conference promoting marketing and media professional development. In partnership with The Modern College of Design, team members engage in student portfolio reviews, mock interviews, as well as onboards interns and externs annually. Employees are also encouraged to pursue educational opportunities related to their profession, and Ohlmann Group offers tuition reimbursement for those who do.
