Ohlmann Group Donates Office Building to Omega Community Development Corporation

ON March 28, 2023

(DAYTON, Ohio) — Ohlmann Group, a women-owned, Dayton-based full-service marketing and advertising agency, today announced the donation of its legacy office building located at 1605 N. Main Street to Omega Community Development Corporation (CDC).

“We care deeply about the Northwest Dayton neighborhood, which Ohlmann Group has called home for 56 years,” said Linda Kahn, CEO. “As our agency has evolved to a hybrid working environment, we’re thrilled to maintain our commitment to our community by turning over the well-maintained building to a non-profit partner. We know that Omega CDC will use this space to its fullest potential and continue transforming the neighborhood for decades to come.”

Omega CDC will utilize the nearly 10,000 sqft office space to further its mission to equip individuals, families, and children with the resources, tools, and opportunities to break the cycle of generational poverty and achieve self-sufficiency through education, employment, economic development, and advocacy.

“As the Omega CDC implements the Hope Zone Promise Neighborhoods initiative, we faced an immediate challenge of finding sufficient office space in our current facilities for the staff we are required to hire for this important work,” said Vanessa Ward, President of Omega CDC. “The Ohlmann family’s donation is an answer to prayer and we are grateful to accept this donation with our earnest commitment to use this space to continue the rich legacy of Walter Ohlmann.”

Ohlmann Group and Omega CDC have a long history of support and collaboration. When Temple Israel relocated in 1994, Walter Ohlmann served on the steering committee for the building’s transition to Omega Baptist Church, which later established Omega CDC as a non-profit. In turn, Omega kept the Hebrew letters on the building as a tribute to the history.

The North Main building donation comes on the heels of Ohlmann Group’s relocation to the 130 Building on West Second Street in Downtown Dayton, a change that reflects the company’s ongoing evolution and underscores its nearly 75 years of strength, stability, and growth.

“Our decision to donate the building mirrors a steadfast commitment to giving back to the community, which has been instilled in us by our father from day one,” shared Lori Ohlmann, Senior Vice President of Account Services. “As Ohlmann Group prepares to enter our 75th year of business, we’re honored to carry on our father’s legacy and continue to deepen our roots in the Dayton area.”
