Here at the Ohlmann Group, we’re passionate about giving back to the Dayton community. Each month, we visit a local service organization in Dayton to volunteer and learn more about supporting our city. This month, The Ohlmann Group crew had the opportunity to volunteer for a great local non-for-profit: SICSA Pet Adoption Center in Dayton!
SICSA’s mission is to promote the welfare and adoption of companion animals and nurture loving, lifelong relationships between animals and people. To support their mission, SICSA offers numerous educational programs and services for families and children to learn more about animals.
During our volunteer trip, we helped to put together “environmental enrichment” for the dogs and cats at SICSA. Enrichment helps to improve the day-to-day environment for animals and provide them with stimulation based on their natural instincts. Examples of enrichment used at SICSA include rubber toys filled with food and treats, blowing bubbles, and using essential oils and other scents.
We also had the wonderful opportunity to socialize with some of SICSA’s dogs and cats on our visit. Check out our photos below to see some adorable adoptable animals!
