LOCAL MARKETING FIRM WINS SIX AT ADVERTISING AWARDS
DAYTON, OH (May 18, 2012) – AAF – Dayton announced the winners of its 2012 Mercury Awards, honoring advertising professionals in sales and support services, including ad specialists, educators, and vendors.
Five members of marketing communications firm The Ohlmann Group were selected as category winners this year. Linda Kahn, Senior Vice President of Media, won in the Best Media Buyer category. This is Linda’s sixth consecutive Mercury Award in this category, winning every year since its inception. David Bowman, Chief Marketing Strategist, won Best Ad Agency Rep for a second consecutive year. Senior Media Buyer Helen Mumaw received the Best Print/Specialty Buyer Mercury Award. Jim Hausfeld walked away with both the Unsung Hero Mercury as well as Best Audio/Video Production Rep and Marketing Strategist Richard Kaiser received the Best Social Media Rep Mercury Award.
Linda Kahn has been with The Ohlmann Group since 1979 where she began her career as a media planner/buyer. Today, as Senior Vice President of Media, Linda leads the team responsible for media evaluation, analysis, purchase, and post-buy analysis for agency clients. Over the last 30 years, Linda has earned a reputation as one of the most respected media planners and negotiators in the region, and volunteers her time with the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton and the Advertising Review Council.
David Bowman has well over a decade of sales, marketing, and strategic communications experience with a specialization in new media. He is a passionate member of the Dayton community, and actively supports numerous organizations, including the United Way, Dayton Rotary and the Dayton Chamber. He is also an organizer, presenter, and emcee for the SummitUp social media conference, and participates in regular speaking engagements on new media, social networking, and digital branding across southwestern Ohio.
Helen Mumaw has been with The Ohlmann Group since 1983 as a senior media buyer. She volunteers her time with the First Baptist Church of Kettering.
Richard Kaiser joined The Ohlmann Group in 2010 as a marketing strategist. His involvement in the Dayton community includes several local non-profits including sitting on the board of Muse Machine, the Dayton Opera and Dayton Cancer Support Community of Southwest Ohio.
Jim Hausfeld recently joined The Ohlmann Group with 23 years experience in the audio production industry. He has won nearly 100 awards for audio production, including AAF-Dayton Hermes Awards for Radio Advertising for the last 14 years, numerous AAF-Dayton Mercury Awards and National ADDY® and International Radio and Production RAP Awards. He volunteers his time with the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio.
Winners were chosen by voting members of the Greater Dayton Advertising Association and Dayton Creative Syndicate, though winners did not have to be members of either organization to be eligible for the award.
