Watch out, world—team OG is back in the kitchen! Recently, we spent a fun and food-filled morning volunteering at Miami Valley Meals (MVM), a local nonprofit that recovers and transforms donated food into delicious, nourishing meals which are then distributed through a network of nonprofit partner organizations that serve those experiencing food insecurity. This innovative model reduces food waste while providing nourishing meals made with love that honor the dignity of people in need of assistance.
We helped the MVM chefs prepare 750 meal trays—which include a protein-forward main dish, side, and dessert. Our team also got a hands-on lesson in peeling and chopping potatoes for MVM’s annual Pierogi with a Purpose fundraiser.
Miami Valley Meals distributes an average of 4,000 meals per week to 50 nonprofit partners per month, and they recently hit a huge milestone—one million meals donated! We’re always happy to lend a hand, especially as MVM gears up to celebrate its 5th anniversary serving the Dayton community.
Volunteering at Miami Valley Meals is a rewarding, fun, and hands-on experience, and they’re always looking for extra volunteers. If you want to make a tangible impact in the Dayton community, consider signing up for a volunteer shift — individuals and groups are welcome!
