Giving back to our community is what we do here at Ohlmann Group, and this month, in recognition of Earth Week, our team took to the streets to volunteer with Waste-Free Dayton.

A relatively new nonprofit in the region, Waste-Free Dayton was formed by two Daytonians with a passion for living sustainably while “caring for one another and for the planet.”

Our team of volunteers filled 20 bags of litter in Historic Inner East Dayton, helping to better the community for all.

The organization focuses on a few primary issues, including plastic pollution, reducing waste, and community rejuvenation. It all starts with education. For example, it’s estimated that 40% of food produced in the U.S. is wasted each year. Waste-Free Dayton aims to curb that number through education, and by promoting more sustainable alternatives to the landfill, such as composting.

You don’t have to wait until the next Earth Week to love our planet. Learn more about Waste-Free Dayton, and look for ways you can live more sustainably while caring for our environment too!
