Supporting the community is high on our list of priorities here at The Ohlmann Group, so each month we take the time to volunteer at a nonprofit that’s making a difference where we live. This month, we spent some time with the dedicated crew at The Foodbank.
The Foodbank aims to alleviate hunger, and distributes food throughout the Dayton community thanks to donors and a network of supporters. The need is great. In the Foodbank’s service area, more than 13% of all residents struggle with food insecurity. That’s nearly 100,000 people, and a third of those are children.
Seniors struggle too, as many of them are on a fixed income. That’s who we focused on during our latest volunteer trip, packing food boxes for seniors throughout our area. In all, our team was proud to have packed 206 boxes, filling 5 pallets!
The Foodbank is always in need of volunteers and donors. If you’d like to give back too, visit The Foodbank’s website and take action to fight hunger.
